Our lovely Beth Wood bopped back to Magpie House Concerts after far too long a time away, and enchanted us with her songs, her singing, her versatility on guitar and piano, and her lovely, lovely smile. Beth, we can't let so many years go by again before you return. Promise.
For the first of three April concerts (yes, we know) please welcome SJ Tucker. SJ is well-known to many of you; to those who don't know Sooj, get ready to be charmed by music and one of the strongest personalities out there on the touring circuit.
What do other people think?
"First off, she can honestly sing like Joni Mitchell, no lie."
-- Commercial Appeal, March 6, 2004 review of Haphazard
"She sings from the heart and to the soul."
-- In the Studio, November 15, 2003
And here's a sample of Sooj herself:
Question: If you could make a music box what would it consist of?
Sooj: What a fun thought! Hmm... I would like my music box to be an
intricate and elegant wooden contraption, with telescoping sections and
cut-outs that would slowly spin and make various designs as the music
played. Perhaps it would also gently levitate somehow, maybe with some
sort of candle-powered lantern apparatus attached to the top- or have
that be one setting/option, and a slow-fading, color-changing LED display be another. . . it would have to play a different song each time I wound it up . . . It would be impossible to break, and it would have a lifetime warranty.

Mailings
Many people have asked that we let them know about other house concerts or similar events, and so we've decided to give it a try. However, we're both very mindful of how much unwanted email all of us get, day in and day out, and don't want to contribute to that onslaught in the slightest. So, if you'd rather only get announcements about the Magpie House Concerts series, just let us know, and we'll promptly take care of it. (And just to help you decide, we can assure you that we will not be sending out more than one extra announcement a month, and often not even that much.)
If you are on our mailing list, you will hear about things first; so if you are not, why not sign up now? We promise not to spam you or let anyone else know your address. And if you know someone else who'd be interested, of course, please pass the word along.
You can do this by clicking here to subscribe directly, or by sending an email asking to be added to concerts@magpiehouseconcerts.com.
